French Quilt 18th Century
Sorry, currently out of stock
By the end of the 18th century, this French boutis quilt was on display in a museum for its fine craftsmanship. It features a bright blue border of vine leafs and grapes and a central insert with multicolor branches in a geometric floral pattern. Provençal quilting, otherwise known as boutis, refers to the traditional technique from the South of France, layering two fabrics together between sections of the design to create a raised effect.
