Why we love it
This hand-thrown rustic pitcher with its pinched snout and abstract hand-painted motifs is typical of ceramics from the Pugliese town of San Pietro in Lama. Used to serve wine or water at the dining table, it most likely dates to the late 1800s / early 1900s.

Remove loose dirt with a soft bristle brush; a cloth may snag on fragile surfaces. Washing with tap water is acceptable, but distilled or de-ionized water is preferable. Water temperature should be lukewarm or cooler.
