Maison Valentino and Mytheresa set sail together to celebrate the launch of the Valentino Escape 2024 Capsule Collection with a beautiful party aboard the legendary Christina O yacht, with its iconic yellow funnell and jacuzzi onboard.
Purchased in 1953 by Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, the magnificent vessel was transformed into a pleasure palace on the sea with no expense spared.
The two brands have a longstanding and fruitful relationship, while Mytheresa events are legendary in fashion circles. The evening started with sundowners on deck as the yacht journeyed from Monaco to Beaulieu-sur-Mer. Upon arrival, guests dined on traditional French Riviera fare, including beef tenderloin with potato mille-feuille, prepared by chef Daniel Arganaraz. The lucky few included Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Julia Sarr-Jamois, Tamara Kalinic and Sophia Roe, all dressed in zany Valentino print shirt dresses and kaftans, a hallmark of the fashion house.
The croquembouche dessert was delivered to the jacuzzi bar with much aplomb: the pastry chef performed sugar spinning while endless champagne was served on silver trays. If this wasn’t enough, the area was later transformed into a dancefloor where The Phly Boyz performed catchy retro tracks beside the picturesque mosaic pool.
Numbers like Fly Me to the Moon, Superstition and Venus were apt on a yacht that has historically hosted the best of old school glamour: Marilyn Monroe, JFK, Sir Winston Churchill, Frank Sinatra and Greta Garbo have all set sail. La Dolce Vita!
