Chocolate Cake
Casa Cabana House Recipe
Make sure you have a simple but delicious chocolate cake recipe up your sleeve. Wether it is served for afternoon tea or after a meal, this recipe is always a hit. We’ve been serving it in my house for as long as I can remember and it’s so easy to make that anyone can do it.
Ingredients:

200g dark chocolate

100g unsalted butter
-
150g caster sugar

1/2 cup whole milk
-
4 eggs
-
Double cream / Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Circular 20cm cake tin
Instructions:

Pre-heat the over to 180°C.

Line your cake tin with baking paper

While the oven is pre-heating, melt the butter and dark chocolate together using a bain-marie.

Crack the eggs in a bowl and separate the yolks and whites.

Mix the caster sugar and egg yolks together in a bowl.

In a separate bowl whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.

Slowly add the melted chocolate to the sugar and yolk mix, stirring as you go.

Add the egg whites to the mixture

Pour the batter into the cake tin and bake for 20-30 minutes

When the cake comes out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes and then top with icing sugar.

Served with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
