My Favorite Place to Stay

The Weekapaug Inn, a property I have known since I was ten, is an expansive shingle style hotel at the western end of saltwater Quonochontaug Pond. Built in the months following 1938’s Great September Hurricane, the hotel captures the leisurely shore life from a hundred years ago. A Relais & Chateaux hotel, it offers New England style rooms and suites.

Best of all is cocktails on the raised porch while watching sailboat races and birds glide over the barrier island and Atlantic. Elegant restaurant, clam bakes, bicycles, nature tours and access to a two-mile stretch of beach—the Inn has it all.
