"This evening brings together my two favorite things: English people and Italian design," said Cabana founder Martina Mondadori as she welcomed guests to a celebratory evening in London to mark Cabana's new design collaboration with Molteni&C.
Beginning with a cocktail reception at the stylish Molteni&C flagship on London's Brompton Road, the night celebrated the launch of Christoph Radl's reimagining of the iconic Tobia Scarpa Monk Chair. Man of the hour Christoph – Cabana's co-founder and Creative Director – flew in from Milan especially for the occasion.
The Big Cabana Family and long-standing Cabana contributors, among them Miguel Flores-Vianna, Fin Fellowes, Nancy Lichertman, Fabrizia Caracciolo, and Lydia Forte, gathered around the Martini bar, swapping stories on art and design.
Later, a cozy group of 24, including Serena Hood, Tristan Hoare, Oscar Humphries, and Petrina Hesketh, headed to the infamous 90’s haunt, Daphne’s, just around the corner, where they gathered for a three-course Anglo-Italian dinner: Pugliese burrata, followed by fillet of Hereford beef and the fluffiest, alcohol-heavy Tiramisu.
The festive feast was all served atop Cabana's new holiday tabletop collection, the brand's best-selling terracotta linen, in Daphne's photogenic private dining room. Sancerre and Barolo flowed with each course, while Martinis were made to order.
The newest issue of Cabana Magazine, Cabana Issue 24, featuring a Molteni-branded band wrap, was placed on each guest's seat, as charming brother and sister duo, Giulia and Giovanni Molteni, who helm Molteni&C, held court, complimenting Martina on how the partnership has helped expand their creative horizons.
