My Favorite Thing To Do:

In Rome, every corner has history and beauty to breathe in. The best way to get to know the historical center of Rome is to wander around the intricate labyrinth of streets and squares, to discover all the ‘vie’vicoli’ and ‘piazze’.

My Favorite Place to Stay:

There are two different hotels that I recommend. They are both well located and have great bars. One is the Locarno in Via della Penna and the other one is G-Rough in Piazza di Pasquino near the Piazza San Pantaleo. They are family-owned, so you can sense the personalized touch in every detail.

My Favorite Restaurants:

When it comes to lunch, I go to Da Cesare in Via sel Pellegrino. They serve Roman traditional cuisine, and the best gnocchi in the neighborhood. For dinner, I like to go to Ar Galletto in Piazza Farnese, probably my favorite square in Rome. If you sit outside on the terrace of the restaurant you can peak through the windows of Palazzo Farnese and enjoy the marvelous painted ceilings. They also serve great Roman cuisine here, very carciofi alla romana, and have a good wine selection.

My favorite place for an aperitivo:  Antica Latteria

For a drink before dinner I suggest Antica Latteria in Vicolo del Gallo N 4 (Piazza Farnese). They prepare amazing cocktails and serve a good selection of ham, salami and cheeses.

My favorite museums and galleries:

To view a nice collection of XV and XVI paintings, you should visit Palazzo Spada – the Borromini perspective under the orange trees is a must-see. Palazzo Farnese is worth a visit too as it is a unique Renaissance jewel. For a beautiful collection of statues, walk to Palazzo Altemps, which holds the Ludovisi collection as a permanent exhibition.

My favorite places to shop:

For trendier shopping with a unique look at fashion, the best street to browse is Via di Monserrato. It has a variety of stores that propose an artistic and eclectic approach to hand made clothing, jewellery, accessories and objects. There are also a couple of art galleries that showcase contemporary artists.

My favorite contemporary art galleries:

These include: L’Archivio di Monserrato; Chez Dede; Gilbert Halaby; Fabio Salini; Maja contemporary art; Delfina Delettrez, among many others.
