TRIP DESCRIPTION

Join PRIOR and Cabana Magazine in Florence, a city that has long set the standard for beauty through its art, culture, and landscape—and continues to today through the work of master craftsmen and cutting-edge fashion designers.

Over the course of a three-night stay, guests will experience Florence through a series of private visits, behind-the-scenes tours, and intimate encounters rarely available to the public. The program brings guests into  artisans’ ateliers, private palazzi featured in Cabana, the Ferragamo Archives through special access, and the Chianti countryside just after the grape harvest. Mealtimes, enjoyed in settings grand and intimate, are a considered introduction to Florence’s culinary heritage, with menus highlighting such beloved dishes as ribollita and bistecca alla fiorentina.

Within Florence, on both sides of the Arno, the spirit of the Renaissance remains vividly present, animating piazzas, gardens, and workshops. In its botteghe—working ateliers where artisans remain true masters of carving, sculpting, stitching, painting, gilding, and more—timeless codes of beauty are a throughline, often framed by the ever-present silhouette of Brunelleschi’s dome.

The stay takes place over the first weekend of October, a fleeting, magical moment when the pressing of grapes f bleeds into the olive harvest and Florence’s bond with the land feels especially tangible. Beyond its giardini all’italiana and panoramic terraces, the journey extends into Chianti, where some of the world’s most storied wine is produced in landmark castles built by the Florentine elite. Accommodation is at Palazzo Guadagni, a 15th-century residence turned boutique hotel in the Oltrarno neighborhood, the heart of Florence’s artisanal tradition.

Weaving together city and countryside, legacy and modernity, the journey brings guests face to face with the people weaving Florence’s new cultural fabric, from artisans safeguarding ancient traditions to fashion houses redefining Italian style for the future.
