When Sophie Wilson’s three youngest children were small, she decided to open a little shop in the entry hall of her gorgeously dilapidated 16th-century manor house in the English countryside. She sold some soap and jam and candles, but when the potter she enlisted to make ceramics couldn’t keep up with demand, she decided to make them herself. Thanks to her very personal aesthetic and the intimate photography she did of her work amidst her actual family life in the faded glamour of her old house and the power of Instagram, the rest is history. The shop closed, and the ceramics took off. Wilson’s work is fantastical and intelligent, mining the history of decorative arts and her own personal passions, and so deeply human and obviously handmade. Her signature technique is slipware—a style associated with the Staffordshire potteries of the 17th century, created by coating semi-hard red clay with a ‘slip’ of liquid white clay. She then uses the centuries-old Roman decorative technique of sgraffito( meaning scratched), where she etches her vigorous, sinuous line drawings into the wet surface to reveal the red clay beneath.

All orders for US, EU and UK are delivered duty paid. We are pleased to offer complimentary standard shipping on qualifying orders (excluding furniture):

Express orders are delivered in 1-4 business days. Ground orders are delivered in 3-7 business days. Delivery service is offered Monday-Friday.
RETURN POLICY
We want you to be delighted with your Cabana purchase and if for any reason you are not completely satisfied, we are happy to accept a return for refund on only qualified items. All costs relating to postage for returns are the buyer’s responsibility. To confirm if your item qualifies for return, please review our Return Policy:
Return must be initiated within 14 days from your delivery date.
All products must include the original brand tags, box, and/or dust bag.
Lifestyle items must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged.

Please notify us by email at enquiries@cabanamagazine.com including your order number and request to return or refund within 14 days of receiving your order. You will then have a further 14 days to return the damaged items.
REFUNDS
Once your return is received, inspected and approved for refund, a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, within 14 working days.
