Transforming Mount Street Gardens into a convincing British pub garden is no easy feat. Last night jeweller to the stars Jessica McCormack hosted a Summer Solstice soirée to celebrate her new flagship Townhouse at 7 Carlos Place, or rather, extend it into the street outside.
Co-hosted by Zoë Kravitz and Carey Mulligan, the occasion announced itself as McCormack’s Tavern: a reimagining of the classic British pub garden, transplanted into one of Mayfair’s prettiest green corners and populated with Jessica’s biggest fans including Drew Barrymore, Jodie Comer, Caitriona Balfe, Alexa Chung, Poppy Delevingne, Sheila Atim, Laura Bailey, Nadia Parkes, Camille Charriere and Julia Restoin Roitfeld.

The evening began at the newly redesigned Townhouse itself, before spilling next door into the gardens, where Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and mini pies did the rounds alongside McCormack’s Lager (the brand’s own), Gin & Tonics, and Lost Explorer Tequila Margaritas. Vintage-style garden games were played with competitive spirit, given the prizes awaiting winners were diamonds. There was even a tombola for three winning tickets, while Alan Power & The Take Twos kept the music and atmosphere moving.
The evening's philanthropic streak was characteristic of the house: games throughout the night raised funds for War Child, whose work supporting children affected by conflict lent the whole occasion a deeper meaning and purpose. If there was a formula for making a jewellery house feel genuinely beloved by its city, this was a masterclass.
