CABANA CURATES | ROOMS & GARDENS | WORLD OF CABANA

To mark Cabana’s collaboration with the Pink Palace of Palm Beach, we’ve turned our attention to The Colony Hotel’s trademark color scheme: soft pink and pale green. These playful-yet-soothing colors, even more striking when combined, have proved enduringly popular, favored by design greats including Dorothy Draper, Min Hogg and David Hicks. Read on to discover some of our favorite schemes from the World of Cabana and beyond.

For Cabana Issue 10, Susana Ordovás explored Mérida’s architectural revival. Inside historic casonas, "high-walled interiors maintain an old-world seclusion,” with ornate tiled floors meeting lime-washed walls in soft pinks.

Forgoing beige, Min Hogg's home in the Canary Islands prizes pinks and greens © Miguel Flores-Vianna, Haute Bohemians.

Min Hogg's Canary Islands home, featured in Haute Bohemians, embodies the legendary editor's love of imperfection - a place where timeworn patinas, delicate pinks, leafy greens, and cool blues create a sense of faded elegance. Layered with antique textiles and rustic furniture, the house is a testament to her belief that true beauty lies in rooms that evolve organically.

Amanda Brooks remembers 'The Old Church' from her childhood in Palm Beach, exploring it once more for Cabana Magazine. The landmark property - a former chapel transformed into a whimsical family home by Florida-based interior designer Mimi Maddock McMakin - exemplifies the classic Palm Beach style.

The Cabana Bungalow at The Colony Hotel, designed by Ashley Hicks and Martina Mondadori, blends Palm Beach glamour with Cabana’s signature mood and old-world European sophistication. The dining table, draped in the new Ibiscus Tablecloth in Pink, is layered with Ginori 1735 floral porcelain.

Swathed in intricate botanical wallpaper, the verdant green bedroom in this historic Hudson Valley home balances old-world romance with lived-in comfort. "I really want to avoid things feeling matchy," designer Heidi Caillier told Cabana, favoring instead a mix of British textiles, antique furniture, and natural textures.

Joanna Maclennan explores Casapiane, an intriguing 19th-century house in Bordeaux, where the stage is set for business. The crumbling mansion is proof that pink and green can work in any type of home or decorative scheme.

In a village on the east coast of Gran Canaria, some 100km from Africa, Swiss decorator Christophe Gollut’s winter retreat offers ample inspiration for anyone considering a pink and green scheme. Over 18 years, the designer gradually bought three adjacent houses, linking them all into one in a kaleidoscope of color. The image above is a great example of how to use one color for the walls and textiles, and the other for accents.

The Drawing Room at Weston Park features posy pink walls, a splendid display by Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler design director, Janie Money. Plucking palettes from Victorian colorways, the plush peaches and pinks are a fitting backdrop for the room's exclusively female portraits—one depicting Charles II's mistresses, another a Peter Lely masterpiece of Weston's visionary owner, Lady Elizabeth.
