My Favorite Place to Stay: The Red Lion Inn
The Red Lion Inn is exactly what comes to mind when you dream of the perfect New England inn, never mind it is the oldest continually operating hotel in all of the US.
My Favorite Restaurant: The Prairie Whale
An excellent farm-to-table restaurant located in a Victorian home (a former porcelain shop, so you had me at 'hello'). It's run by the genius British restaurateur Mark Firth, of Brooklyn’s famed Marlow and Sons.
My Favorite Museum or Gallery: The Clark
Located next to Williams College and housed in a Neoclassical / Tadao Ando [famed Japanese architect] mash up, The Clark has one of the finest collections of 18th and 19th century paintings, sculptures and decorative arts. Of note, the original building and collection was a gift of the Singer sewing machine family.
My Favorite Park or Green Space
It is ALL green here in the Berkshires with a huge list of hikes at the ready: Benedict Pond, Bish Bash Falls and Mount Greylock, if you're up for it.
My Favorite Antique Shop: Stair
I do love a good auction and Stair is close by in Hudson, New York. It's a not-well-kept secret spot favored by many of the top interior decorators.
My Favorite Cozy Pub or Bar: Mooncloud
Mooncloud in Great Basrington has some of the best drinks anywhere.
My Favorite Coffee Shop or Café: Best Damn Espresso
It’s actually a coffee truck called Best Damn Espresso, which parks in front of our cannabis shop. It is owned by a supermodel couple who perfected their craft at their sneaker shop-cum-espresso bar in Brooklyn.
My Favorite Shop: Farnsworth Fine Cannabis Company
Widely considered to be the most refined cannabis shop on the East Coast. Of course, it’s owned by my partner so I am a bit jaded.
My Favorite Hidden Treasure
The Berkshires are famous for their natural light, and even after being here for more than 20 years I remain in awe of it.
My Favorite Thing to Do in The Berkshires
I love doing anything outside, from gardening, to walks, to doing utterly nothing. The natural beauty here is really quite something.
