My Favorite Place to Stay: Hoxton

Because I have just stayed there, the newly opened Hoxton on George’s Street is a must. Its location is incredible, within walking distance of every great museum, shop, and bar. It has the original Library Bar reimagined, perfect for a nightcap. The staff are incredible (ask for Sorcha on the front desk, she will really look after you). They also have Dublin’s first Peruvian restaurant, and as Peru is a country I loved visiting some years back, this restaurant beautifully merges my love of Dublin and travel.

My Favorite Museum or Gallery: Francis Bacon Studio

This has to be the Francis Bacon Studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery. My favorite artist’s studio has been rebuilt exactly as he left it upon his death in London. It feels like seeing inside the painter’s mind – a moment caught in time that feels invigorating but also poignant. It truly is remarkable.

My Favorite Green Space or Park: Merrion Square

An oasis in the heart of the city. I love the architecture that surrounds it, including Oscar Wilde’s childhood home, now home to his museum. The square is the perfect respite from the bustle of the city itself.

My Favorite Coffee Shop: Kaph on Drury Street

Kaph is vibrant, modern, and energetic. It feels like the next generation of Dublin, full of style and youthful energy, with great coffee.

My Favorite Restaurant: Díon

Díon, at the top of the Central Bank, has just opened and is my new firm favorite. Those who know me know I love a sunset, and this boasts the best views of Dublin city, across to the mountains and the sea. It is spectacular, with an incredible vibe and an exciting cocktail menu. I think it will be a future Dublin classic.

My Favorite Bookstore: Hodges Figgis

Hours upon hours have been spent in Hodges Figgis on Dawson Street. It has such a vast array of books on every topic that it truly is a day in itself in Dublin, browsing the shelves. Its location is incredible and it’s a must-visit. Chapter One on Parnell Street, for pre-loved second-hand books, is another favourite I always love to pop into for a browse.

My Favorite Shop: Powerscourt Townhouse

Housed on William Street, Powerscourt Townhouse has everything from art and antiques to fashion, jewellery, Irish craft and food and beverage offerings. The architecture alone is worth a visit, but it is also a space to discover local craft and rare treasures.

My Favorite Hidden Treasure: The Chester Beatty Library

The Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle is a must-visit. A hidden gem with a treasure trove of manuscripts books, and rare finds from cultures around the world. I love how it brings together traditions from across the globe. Its exhibitions and cultural spaces are breathtaking.

My Favorite Thing to Do in Dublin: Theatre

Time permitting, I love to see a play at the Gate Theatre or the Abbey Theatre. Irish playwrights are renowned the world over, so having the opportunity to catch something in Ireland’s capital is always a joy.
