My Favorite Shops
The Cabana Store: I have to choose Cabana’s first physical retail space in the heart of Milan, it's been such an exciting journey. It's on Via Borgospesso and offers the classic Cabana mix of tabletop, vintage, magazines and books.
Atelier Stephan Janson: Stephan is Milan’s best couturier and one of my favorite people too. All of his dresses and designs are extremely feminine and timeless. They are also perfect for bespoke and bridal.
d’Adda: One of my best friends, Coco Brandolini d’Adda, has opened a ‘by appointment only’ atelier here, not far from the Cabana store. She is one of the most stylish people I know and it is reflected in her beautiful designs.
Wait and See Milano: Another good friend, Uberta Zambeletti, has an eclectic store on Via Santa Marta; it's a great destination for well priced, stylish pieces.
My Favorite Museum or Gallery: Fondazione Prada
Fondazione Prada is simply unmissable. My favorite design destination with creations by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, plus an incredible vintage selection too.
My Favorite Place of Architectural Interest: Milan's churches
Milan’s churches are very special, in particular: Chiesa Santa Maria della Passione, Chiesa di Sant’Alessandro in Zebedia and San Bernardino alle Ossa (a small chapel entirely covered in skulls!)
My Favorite Restaurants
Da Giacomo: After all these years, Da Giacomo on Via Pasquale Sottocorno, still remains my favorite restaurant in Milan. Decorated by Renzo Mongiardino, it is a Milanese classic with delicious, traditional food. Not to be missed.
Le Specialità: The best pizza in town. Unfussy, a warm and inviting atmosphere with good food: it is a favorite spot for good reason.
My Favorite Antique Shops
Galleria Carlo Orsi: One of the finest antique dealers in the world, Carlo Orsi's shop on Via Bagutta is open by appointment. Be prepared to gaze in stupor at some of the most beautiful works displayed on their walls (pieces by Botticelli and Canova have passed through here).
Pennisi: For antique and vintage jewelry, in my opinion, the best in the world is Pennisi on Via Alessandro Manzoni. They have an extraordinary selection of fascinating and exquisite pieces from various periods. You can’t walk past the windows without being tempted inside.
My Favorite Coffee Shop or Cafe: St Ambroeus on Corso Giacomo Matteotti is truly the best patisserie in town, and its best kept secret is the actual workshop in the lower ground floor where all the magic happens!
