TRAVEL GUIDE | CABANA TRAVEL | WORLD OF CABANA

Laid-back, community-focused Provincetown is one of New England's most charming and bohemian seaside spots. Alfredo Paredes, former Creative Director at Ralph Lauren, has spent many happy summers at his coastal retreat in Provincetown. Alfredo shares his favourite haunts - from eclectic galleries and much-loved restaurants, to a trusted spot for sourcing antiques.

My Favorite Place to Stay: Captain Jack’s Wharf

When I had my house in Provincetown, that was my favorite place to stay.

Located at the very end of Captain Jack’s Wharf, a historic dock constructed for fisherman, I designed the home to capture the rustic waterfront setting with blue tones, vintage pieces, and nautical antiques.

My Favorite Museum or Gallery: The Bowersock Gallery

One of my favorites, it carries a mix of photography, ceramics, hand-blown glass, and paintings, all with a very eclectic feel. Set in the heart of Provincetown’s gallery district, the curated collections are captivating and speak to the community’s thriving art scene.

My Favorite Restaurant: The Red Inn

A go-to restaurant for many in Provincetown. The laid-back atmosphere and waterfront property speaks to the overall feel of the community. The restaurant has become a Provincetown staple for both locals and out of towners.

My Favorite Cozy Pub: Nor'East Beer Garden

This lovely spot serves some of the best food and drinks in town with outdoor seating spaces and cocktails inspired by the garden. Each summer, the menu always slightly varies with a different culinary theme for the year.

My Favorite Shop: John Derian

Antique shopping is a passion of mine and each time I visit one of John Derian's shops, I leave feeling inspired. Our home in Provincetown felt so collected, and I find that sourcing those objects at a local spot makes it feel even more personal. John Derian inspires me even outside of antiques. Whether it’s tablesets, linens, or artwork, all of these products feel so rooted in Provincetown, which to me is what makes it such a great place to shop.

My Favorite Café: 361 Coffee & Espresso Bar

I find myself at 361 Coffee & Espresso Bar when looking for a good café. The exterior looks like a little red house that fits perfectly within the style of the town, and it is somewhat of a community gathering place, which is what makes Provincetown so great.

My Favorite Green Space: Shank Painter Pond Wildlife Sanctuary

Provincetown’s ecological crown jewel, Shank Painter Pond Wildlife Sanctuary is a 7.52 acre property with a large observation deck where people can hike, bird watch, and fish.

My Favorite Hidden Treasure: Long Point Lighthouse

The best hidden treasure in Provincetown is the Long Point Lighthouse, a historic light house at the Northeast tip of the town. The beach is typically less crowded than the others so it’s a nice place to sit and enjoy the water and views.

My Favorite Thing to Do in Provincetown:

My favorite activity to do in Provincetown is sit on the dock and enjoy the full tide cycle. I find it so relaxing and enjoy being able to relax and unwind.
