Cabana's close friends and industry favorites were gathered by Martina Mondadori on behalf of Chanel for an intimate dinner during Paris Fashion Week at Karl Lagerfeld's private library, 7L. The event marked the launch of the Cabana Lesage Collector’s Edition, 500 highly covetable limited edition books of the new issue.
Presented in a collectible box adorned with two exclusive tweeds crafted by Lesage, the special edition celebrates the French Maison's 100th anniversary. The issue features world-exclusive stories and cutting-edge graphic treatments, while an additional 50 copies with a black-on-black logo are available to purchase at 7L, the iconic Parisian library turned book shop founded by Karl Lagerfeld in 1999.
The literary gem was once the designer’s studio and is now used to house his private collection of over 33,000 irreplaceable tomes on visual culture, spanning photography, architecture, design and fashion. Acquired by Chanel in 2021, the space hosts monthly salon readings in celebration of Lagerfeld's unique sensibility.

To honor the magical partnership, Lesage insider Hubert Barrère joined architect Aline Asmar d’Amman, author Victoria Botana de Beauvau and photographers Miguel Flores-Vianna and François Halard at two tables dressed in tableware from Karl's personal collections, including his antique linen and monogrammed silverware. A bespoke French menu of tartare de thon, aubergine rôtie, poisson de ligne with beurre de savagnin and tartelette à la figue was created by chef Bertrand Grébaut, of restaurant Septime fame, served with limitless champagne.
Four different dinner sets were used in total: the Atelier Gustavsberg Kage’s Service inspired by Wilhelm Kage (1889-1960); La Compagnie des Arts Français’ blue ceramics dinner set (circa 1925), and two by Manufacture de Meissen. Lalique Langeais glassware (1976) were artfully arranged with a selection of crystal vases overflowing with meadow flowers in blousy pinks and apricots.
The fashionable crowd were entertained after dessert by designer Vincent Darré's impromptu homage to Martina Mondadori, a lively ditty and dance impersonating Karl Lagerfeld. Guests, including Fabrizia Caracciolo di Castagneto, Fabrizio Casiraghi and Fortuné Penniman, Derek Blasberg and his date Kelly Sawyer, were transfixed, clapping in delight. When the clock struck midnight, the Cabana crew, led by Martina and Ashley Hicks, disappeared to the Ritz in search of martinis.
