My Favorite Place to Stay: The Dorchester
The Oliver Messel suite at The Dorchester, where I’ve been working recently, has to be the most romantic and theatrical set of rooms in which to stay in the city. I don’t often stay in hotels in London, but I’ve always rather liked the look of Hazlitt’s in Soho too.
My Favorite Coffee Shops
I’m actually yet to pay this one a visit, but I feel as if I’m going to be a big fan of the fairly newly opened outpost of St. JOHN at the London Review of Books. Our local coffee shop, Bread by Bike, is also a winner.

My Favorite Museums and Galleries
Dennis Severs’ House cannot be beaten for pure magic and wonder, and Sir John Soane’s Museum is always worth an extended pit stop. The Garden Museum hosts intriguing exhibitions, and is a peaceful place to spend an afternoon with its charming courtyard garden. It also has an excellent café.
My Favorite Cozy Pub or Bar: The Lord Stanley
The Lord Stanley in Camden is my favorite pub as it’s our local. The food and atmosphere are both good, and I enjoy its emerald green ceiling tiles.
