Peter Schlesinger
Los Angeles-born Peter Schlesinger is an artist who seems less defined by any medium than by his singular vision and sensibility. Having always followed his own internal compass, Schlesinger is a painter who never felt comfortable painting, a photographer who never considered himself a photographer, and a ceramicist whose international acclaim for the sculptures he’s been making for the last 30 years did not come quickly. Yet, his work in each discipline is powerful and original. Peter has exhibited internationally since the late 1980s, and his work is held in the permanent collections of the Parrish Art Museum, The Farnsworth Museum, and Manchester Gallery of Art, among others.
