Cabana founder and Editor-in-Chief Martina Mondadori hosted her annual Salone party at Casa Cabana, this time in celebration of her close friend Amy Astley who launched AD at Home during Milan Design Week. There are certain evenings during Milan Design Week that feel less like events and more like family gatherings, moments of stillness, familiarity and warmth amid the week’s perpetual motion. The soirée Martina Mondadori hosted at Casa Cabana in honor of Amy Astley, Editor in Chief of Architectural Digest, was precisely that sort of evening.

The occasion was Amy’s new book, AD at Home, which holds an intimate survey of spaces she has loved during her tenure at the helm of the world’s most venerable interiors title. From Dakota Johnson’s sun-drenched Los Angeles home to the composed New York apartment of Shonda Rhimes, the book is a portrait of both rooms and lives: the way people shape their surroundings, and are shaped by them in return.

Set within the Renzo Mongiardino-designed apartment (that most storied of Milanese interiors, layered with decades of decoration, history, and atmosphere) Casa Cabana proved itself to be, as ever, the ideal backdrop. During Milan Design Week, when the city is at its most exhilarating, and its most exhausting, there is something genuinely restorative about arriving somewhere that feels so entirely effortless.

The glorious, abundant flowers were by Jardin La Ménagère, while tables were dressed with Babe linens from Cabana’s Spring/Summer ’26 hosting collection, which more than lived up to their name. The food, and there was a great deal of it, ran the full Italian register: gnocco fritto, orecchiette, panna cotta with strawberries, crostate, and the infamous Cabana chocolate cake, which continues to attract its own loyal following.

The guest list included leading names from the international worlds of design and fashion. Among the attendees were Kelly Wearstler, Derek Blasberg, Coco Brandolini d'Adda, Kristina O’Neill, Emiliano Salci, Laura Rimini, Christine d’Ornano, Will Cooper, Tom Delavan, Colin King and Athena Calderone — a room of people who think seriously about beauty and how it is lived in, entirely apt for the book being celebrated.

By the time the evening drew to a close, it had achieved that particular quality that the best Casa Cabana evenings always do: the sense that conversation had gone on longer than anyone intended, and that nobody had minded in the least.
