Creating cultural dialogues between brands and communities is one of the most valuable roles the professional middle man can play - and Edward Enninful OBE is king of the creative zeitgeist. A polymath who embraces many disciplines - media, fashion, art, business, philanthropy and film - Enninful understands the importance of emotional connection, and the societal conversations that result.
Now, Enninful has embarked on a collaboration to make fine art more accessible and less "intimidating", admitting he was scared to visit museums as a child, but always loved Monet. Fittingly, he has selected a series of his favorite Monets from the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie to be remastered as LITO limited edition Hi-Rnd© prints on paper for the very first time. This revolutionary technology renders and recreates not only the colors of an original artwork, but also the texture, relief and brushstrokes with extraordinary quality and precision. In short, the popular dream of owning a masterpiece is suddenly one step closer.
"I was instantly drawn to the idea of the Masters being accessible to as many people as possible: legacy masters for a new generation. Democratic principles have driven me throughout my life, and I was bowled over by the sophisticated technology LITO have at their fingertips to make this mindset more of a reality."
Printmaking company LITO has created LITO Masters as the company's conservation arm, to support leading museums and institutions by providing a new tool for the research and conservation of masterpieces. Alongside LITO Masters, LITO Editions commissions contemporary artists to reimagine original artworks, which are then rendered and developed at the LITO Technology Lab. Created in close collaboration with the artist, each edition is hand-signed and numbered by the artist, reflecting the artist’s vision and the company’s engineering expertise.
Enninful, like LITO, is not afraid to venture into the unknown, pushing for progress as a stylist, then Editor-in-Chief at British Vogue and now Global Cultural and Creative Advisor at Vogue. An innovator, he partners with pioneers to propel creativity forward. "I was scared to go into museums as a child, but I have always adored Monet. I want to remove any sense of intimidation associated with art, but not devalue its aura and impact. AI is making everything possible, it's incredibly exciting. Priceless creations can now be delivered with sensitive price points to engage and educate new audiences."
"Art transcends everything: where you’re from, your gender, race, religion. It’s the greatest leveler. We can learn from an industry that is changing and moving us forward. We can’t stand still. LITO have shown anything is possible."
