London Craft Week (12-17 May 2025) returns for it's biggest edition yet this month. With appearances from over 1000 creatives — ranging from established and leading names, to emerging makers — the city-wide festival promises to be a celebration of British and international craft and creativity. Key Highlights
The V&A South Kensington, Tuesday 13 May

What better place to host a symposium on the the art of craftsmanship than the Victoria & Albert Museum, home to a collection spanning 5000 years of human creativity. From bookbinding and puppetry, to Sadu weaving and silversmithing, Tuesday 13 May promises inspiration and insight at the V&A, with talks and demonstrations.
Don't miss the LCW Craft Symposium on Tuesday morning, where Cabana will host a talk on craftsmanship and performance with four-time Oscar winning set and costume designer, Catherine Martin; Alberto Cavalli, executive director of the Michelangelo Foundation and Homo Faber, and theatrical milliner, Sophie Lambe.

Hand-Stitched Craft at Robert Kime

Robert Kime are offering a chance to step behind the scenes at their Ebury Street showroom with a hands-on open studio, dedicated to their bespoke cushions and hand-sewn lampshades. Visitors can observe the team at work, crafting with antique textiles, trims, and signature Robert Kime fabrics, while enjoying the opportunity to learn about the artisanal process and discuss ongoing projects in a relaxed and informal setting.

Master Craftsmanship of Myanmar

Founded in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III, Turquoise Mountain is a charitable foundation dedicated to preserving and celebrating historic and artisanal heritage across Afghanistan, Myanmar, and the Middle East. This year, the spotlight falls on Myanmar, with artisans presenting fine jewellery, lacquerware, and textiles that reflect a deep sense of cultural legacy and traditional techniques—reminding us that craftsmanship, at its finest, is a living story passed through generations.

Illuminated Forms: Inside the Workshop of Jess Wheeler

And Objects welcomes artist Jess Wheeler to its Pimlico Road showroom for a live demonstration. For one day only, Jess and her team will recreate the spirit of her Dorset studio, working on a large-scale sculpture and revealing techniques such as plaster casting, metal shaping, and patination. Visitors are invited to witness the process up close and gain a deeper understanding of her meticulous approach to making.

Tess and Alfred Newall: Herbarium Cabinet

Creative husband and wife duo—decorative artist Tess Newall and furniture maker Alfred Newall—will present their latest collaborative work, the Herbarium Cabinet.
A celebration of traditional craftsmanship meets modern creativity and inspired by the botanical legacy of Carl Linnaeus, the cabinet features hand-painted botanical studies applied through a decoupage technique. On display at London’s Linnean Society, it will be accompanied by original botanical specimens from Linnaeus’ collection.

Secret Ceramics, Christie's

Secret Ceramics returns to London Craft Week—this time to Christie's—with over 100 anonymous works by leading and emerging ceramic artists—each creator’s identity revealed only after purchase. Held in partnership with FiredUp4, the charitable initiative co-founded by Kate Malone MBE, the event raises vital funds to support four ceramic studios across London, offering young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to experience the transformative power of clay.
Buyers have the opportunity to acquire pieces by celebrated names including Sophie Wilson, Claudia Rankin, Hitomi Hosono, Bouke de Vries, and more.

Smoky Softness

Hosted by Turn, Cesca Dvorak unveils an immersive installation of screen-printed, painted, and woven textiles, displayed within a richly evocative domestic setting. Inspired by her visits to folk museums in Poland—where floral-painted walls and intricately cut paper window decorations are abound—the scene captures a sense of warmth and tradition. Complementing the textiles are ceramic works created in collaboration with Ed Hill, a UK-based maker specialising in stoneware and slipware.
